The MD position is responsible for managing the Regional Operating Businesses (P&Ls) of Trilliant Incorporated.  During the market development period and pre anchor tenant contract in the region the MD reports to the CEO, after the establishment of significant revenue flow the MD will report the office of the COO.   As a member of the executive staff, they manage sales and service delivery of customer projects in chosen geographic markets, working with the CEO on major new projects and qualifying new regional business units/opportunities etc.

The MD responsibilities include:

  • For new markets the MD will be personally tasked with securing initial business and as such revenue for the nominated region/s, taking region to cash flow neutral status at minimum cost to the company and inside the agreed time frame.
  • Manages P&L operating performance to achieve contribution to the agreed/targeted corporate plan
  • Building and staffing qualified teams in field operating units to meet/exceed plan objectives
  • Develop/adapt processes for optimization and improvement of project management in the region
  • Coordinates relationship development within the established/prospective customer base within the region
  • Summarizes and reports on the progress against the plan as per company requirements
  • Leverages the head office executive team and the CEO to promote, close and manage the region
  • Identifies extraordinary investment requirements/opportunities and changes to regional business plans, product roadmap priorities and regional staffing levels. These maybe presented by expansive elements of the plan driven by the growth in customer projects as well as introduction of new services within established programs and or region
  • Participates as a member of the Senior Executive Team, contributing to strategic and corporate planning
  • Coordinating contract negotiations in partnership with the general & local counsel and the CEO.

The MD manages and reports on all customer operations revenues and costs including product supply, professional services for small transaction as well as major projects.  The operating unit P&L is the final financial measure before delivery to the customer, purchasing at transfer pricing from the product business units and covering overheads associated with Corporate Services and Sales allocations.

Professional Qualities

The MD will be a polished and energetic leader with 15+ years of progressive experience in a series of successive commercial and cross functional roles, with 8 to 10 years of experience in leadership roles, in a world class organization.

Required experience and qualifications include:

  • Market visionary with experience introducing a new company/product/service into markets.
  • Intimate knowledge of utilities, energy, technology and/or smart grid market is desired.
  • Experienced delivering sustained rapid growth with global expansion leveraging a technology platform.
  • Possessing a strong understanding of new product development, integration of new products and services into a business, as well as organic product management and service development.
  • Excellent strategic, financial, process and project management skills.
  • A seasoned team leader and mentor who can train and develop the existing staff as well as attract and lead other key sales professionals.
  • Possessing and exceptional relationship-orientation but with a robust track record of closing deals, particularly large, complex, national deals.
  • Ability to articulate Trilliant’s vision and value to utilities, customers, channel partners, and end-users, and to differentiate the Company from competitors.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA and/or advanced degree preferred.
