LPWAN is designed from the ground up as a low data rate / high capacity network that provides you deep, wide area coverage. This private network offers point-to-multipoint technology capable of supporting a true opt-in deployment strategy. The high network capacity is achieved through access point’s ability to support up to 1200 simultaneous endpoint connections.

LPWAN solutions offer extreme coverage and capacity while still providing the stringent security that you’ve come to expect from Trilliant. Due to the extreme coverage, and capacity an LPWAN solution has a low network planning and deployment cost, and a very low ongoing operational cost.

Features & Benefits:

  • Cost effective network deployment
    • 50-200 square miles (80-321 km) per access point, outdoor
    • 5-10 square miles (8-16 km) per access point for underground / indoor endpoints
  • Endpoints operate at 500 mW and leverage closed loop Power Control to reduce transmission power to minimum required to maintain link quality
    • Star Topology means endpoints can sleep when not sending data driving very long battery life for Gas and Water meters and other battery powered IOT endpoints
  • Provides a high capacity uplink and the ability to support >95% power outage message reliability with less than two minutes of latency regardless of the size of the outage
    • Star Topology means that it is not reliant on meshing through other meters to report outage alarms
  • AMI firmware upgrades are supported via a dedicated broadcast channel
    • There is no time difference between upgrading 10,000 or 100,000 devices
    • The actual time is dependent on a number of configuration settings and firmware image size
    • upgrades to all devices on a network typically take between 3-7 days
  • Meter configuration is supported via downlink unicast, multi-cast (group of devices) or broadcast communication (all devices)
    • Meter configuration programming takes less than one day to all meters
