Trilliant and KORE Telematics Partner on Two-Way C&I Meter Reading Solutions across Digital Cellular Networks
Trilliant Incorporated, a Smart Grid communications provider and leader in delivering solutions that enhance energy efficiency, utility operations, and renewable resource integration, and KORE Telematics, the world’s largest digital wireless services provider specializing in machine-to-machine (M2M) communications, today announced a partnership wherein KORE and Trilliant will collaborate to ensure customers can quickly and cost effectively activate and deploy Trilliant’s CellReader® and CellGateway® meter communication solution across Tier 1 GSM and CDMA networks. Under the partnership, KORE will also obtain device approvals for the CellReader under its One-Stop Device Accreditation Program.
Trilliant’s CellReader solution installs under-the-glass of solid-state C&I electric meters and provides two-way IP based communications over digital cellular networks. The CellGateway is an external communications device that connects to a variety of C&I electric, gas, and water meters via standard serial communications.
Trilliant has been a leading provider of digital cellular communication products for remote meter data applications since 2003 and has been providing utilities with metering solutions since 1985. The CellReader and CellGateway digital cellular communications products complement Trilliant’s industry-leading SecureMesh™ communications solution, which provide utilities with a private wireless mesh network for multi-tier Smart Grid applications.
KORE is at the forefront in accelerating and enabling innovations in the M2M world, including energy management solutions such as Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI). KORE Telematics offers reliable, cost-effective wireless backhaul solutions for utilities via their carrier-grade, high availability network. Trilliant customers will also have access to the KORE PRiSMPro™ portal, an automated control platform for provisioning and control of both GSM and CDMA cellular services. KORE makes it easy to deploy AMI, or any wireless M2M application, in a matter of days, delivering the most cost-effective solution for backhaul communications in the market today.
“We are looking forward to joining forces with KORE,” according to Arnie Liepa, SVP of Channel Businesses at Trilliant. “Their experience in GSM and CDMA network technology and our expertise in C&I meters means that utility customers will benefit from stronger integration, faster certification and streamlined support services.”
“With our assistance, Trilliant will be able to refer customers to a strategic partner that makes the on-boarding and ongoing management of CellReader and CellGateway solutions fast, simple and reliable,” according to Stan Cwalinski, VP Sales at KORE Telematics. “As the Smart Grid market continues to grow in North America and globally, rapid and reliable device certification and AMI deployment across a variety of network technologies will help accelerate that growth.”
KORE and Trilliant will be available for comments and questions at booth #2408 and #827 at DistribuTECH 2011, taking place February 1 – 3 at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, Calif.
