Trilliant Furthers Interoperability, Joins NRECA MultiSpeak® Initiative
Redwood City, CA – September 19, 2011 — Trilliant, a Smart Grid communications leader in delivering solutions that enhance energy efficiency, utility operations and renewable resource integration, announced today that it has joined the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association’s (NRECA) MultiSpeak Initiative and will further the widespread interoperability of Trilliant’s UnitySuite Head-end software.
MultiSpeak is a specification that defines standardized interfaces among software applications commonly used by electric utilities. It defines details of data that need to be exchanged between software applications in order to support different processes commonly applied at utilities.
Trilliant’s SecureMesh® network provides wireless data communications for a variety of demanding utility applications, including advanced metering infrastructure (AMI), distribution automation (DA), supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) and more. Its UnitySuite Head-End software manages the network, devices on the network and the data from the network to a utility’s meter data management system (MDM), outage management system (OMS), consumer information system (CIS) and billing systems.
“Our involvement in the MultiSpeak Initiative reinforces our commitment to serving utilities with best-in-class technology and software that meets interoperability standards to support their Smart Grid initiatives,” said Arnie Liepa, senior vice president of channel businesses at Trilliant. “We want our customers to easily integrate our solutions with their critical systems and maximize the value of the data our solutions provide.”
“We are pleased Trilliant has joined the MultiSpeak initiative. Standardized interoperability, achieved through MultiSpeak, will provide a cost-effective solution for smart grid communication networks,” stated Bob Saint, NRECA MultiSpeak Program Manager.
