Trilliant Obtains Approval from Measurement Canada for its MeshReader™ in the Landis+Gyr Focus® Meter, and Completes Installation of Plug n’ Play Mesh at Milton Hydro
Trilliant Incorporated announced the revision of the Landis+Gyr Focus meter approval by Measurement Canada to include Trilliant’s MeshReader communication solution. Concurrently, Trilliant announced the successful deployment of its Plug n’ Play OpenMesh™ solution at Milton Hydro.
“The Focus meter equipped with the MeshReader is the foundation for a solution that exceeds the requirements for an open Advanced Metering Infrastructure,” said Bill Vogel, Founder, Senior Vice President Strategic Development of Trilliant. “Our MeshReader integrated into the Landis+Gyr Focus meter has received approval from Measurement Canada. This solution is built on open standards and has built-in features to support affordable migration from AMR to AMI.”
OpenMesh Network Solution
Trilliant’s MeshReader establishes a two-way wireless communication path to the MeshGate™ that collects the data and provides access to a private or public wireless network. If needed, the messages may “hop” through several neighboring MeshReader-equipped meters before reaching the MeshGate access point. MeshReaders and MeshGates employ an open infrastructure built on IEEE 802.15.4, Internet protocols, and ANSI C12 communication standards, and are compatible with a variety of meters, handheld devices, smart phones, PDAs, in-home energy display, and smart thermostats.
