Trilliant and SAMART Extend Partnership to Advance Smart Metering and Grid Modernization in Thailand
On July 10, 2025, Trilliant and SAMART signed a new two-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), reinforcing a strategic partnership that continues to play a key role in shaping the future of energy in Thailand. This renewed commitment builds on the successful deployment of Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) for the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) and reflects the growing importance of smart grid solutions, digital transformation, and energy transition across the Asia-Pacific region.

Thailand is in the midst of a major energy transformation, with a strong national focus on grid modernization, energy efficiency, and smart infrastructure. - Reliable, Two-Way Communication: The solution leverages cellular-based communication technologies including NB-IoT, LTE, and 5G—to ensure secure, real-time connectivity between meters and utility systems.
- High-Frequency Data Collection: With 15-minute interval reads, PEA gains access to granular consumption data, enabling demand response, time-of-use tariffs, and grid performance monitoring.
- Seamless Backend Integration: UnitySuite® integrates with SAMART’s Meter Operations Management System (MOMS), creating a unified platform for remote monitoring, asset optimization, and smart grid analytics.
- Scalability and Future-Proofing: The platform is designed to support millions of smart meters, aligning with Thailand’s long-term roadmap for decentralized energy resources (DERs) and smart city initiatives.
