Trilliant to Showcase Smart Grid and Smart City Innovation at the IEEE PES Grid Edge Technologies Conference & Exposition
San Diego, CA — IEEE PES 2023 — April 11, 2023 — Trilliant, a leading international provider of solutions for advanced metering infrastructure (AMI), smart grid, smart cities and IIoT, will take part in the IEEE PES Grid Edge Technologies Conference and Expo in San Diego, CA, April 11-14, 2023 at the San Diego Convention Center, showcasing its device-independent platform and interoperable, sustainable solutions on the exhibit floor. A Trilliant expert will also present insights and best practices on the Smart City / Smart Utility Connect Stage.
The IEEE PES Grid Edge Technologies Conference and Exposition is a collaborative forum, bringing together a variety of organizations essential to delivering enhanced productivity, efficiency, and interoperability to the grid.
Greg Myers, Vice President of Global Product Strategy & Management at Trilliant, will appear on the Smart City / Smart Utility Connect Stage on April 12 at 11:15 a.m. PT to share a presentation titled “Accelerating Success for Smart Cities and Smart Grids.” During this session, Myers will examine the key challenges to accelerating the proliferation of smart cities and smart grids, and how they “work together” to achieve common goals. He will focus on the importance of standards, digitalization, identifying common priorities, specific milestones that should be established and what success looks like.
“We’re excited to participate in this important IEEE event focused on the future of the grid,” said Myers. “With the rapid adoption of Distributed Energy Resources (DER) and Transportation Electrification, the grid is quickly transitioning to a more complex distribution network. To provide as good or better reliability to their customers, electric distribution companies require many more sensors, control points, and greatly reduced latency. This has led to the development of distributed intelligence, or grid edge computing, to collect and analyze data to make those decisions on the grid edge. Trilliant is keenly focused on working with utility and city customers to support them with highly scalable, secure, device-independent solutions to build an ecosystem that supports all their requirements now and in the future.”
Trilliant’s solutions for Smart Grid and Smart Cities include its universal communications platform which enables utilities to not only have the power of choice for connecting to multiple communication types and endpoint vendors at time of deployment, but also to adapt to new protocols and standards over time with seamless integration into their existing system. Trilliant’s Demand Response (DR) solution — part of the company’s Prime Energy Suite — is a highly scalable and configurable software designed for utilities. In addition to DR, Trilliant’s platform encompasses meter data collection, alarms and notifications, energy balances, demand response, data management and outage monitoring.
