The Realities that ASEAN Utilities Face as they Future-Proof for the Energy Transition

Climate vulnerability is rising. Arup’s analysis highlights how typhoons, sea level rise, and earthquakes are increasingly disrupting grid operations, especially in coastal and island nations.³

Limited grid flexibility and energy storage are hampering the ability to balance supply and demand. GEIDCO emphasizes the need for advanced storage and flexible transmission systems to manage variability from renewables.²
